As the end of the regular season nears, graduating forwards for the Innovex Estevan Bears are hitting major milestones before they wrap up their U18 AAA career.
Gunner Moore has reached 150 career regular season points, a feat only achieved by nine other players in SMAAAHL history. Gunner notched the plateau with a beautiful assist on the Bears’ opening goal during their 3-1 win over the Yorkton Maulers on Tuesday, Feb. 10th, giving him 60 goals and 90 assists over 129 career regular season games.
Moore’s milestone comes during the most productive season in the Bears’ 6-year history, as the team captain has tallied 74 points (25G, 49A) in 40 games. With four games remaining, Moore is the leading scorer in the SMAAAHL just ahead of Moose Jaw’s Ryan Gibbs (73).
Earlier this season, Moore surpassed Carter Onrait as the franchise leader in points. And by the time this season comes to an end, it’s very likely that Moore’s franchise marks will remain in place for several years down the road.
DYNAMIC DUO TALLIES 100 PTS
Not to be outdone, linemates Dylan Brass and Boston Schmidt have both reached 100 career regular season points. They both marked the milestone with identical stat lines of 48 goals and 52 assists, and they both achieved the feat during the Bears 4-1 victory over the Moose Jaw Warriors on Friday, February 6th. The two forwards have played with each other for three straight seasons starting together with the Yorkton Maulers in 2023-24 and the last two seasons with the Bears.
