The commitments continue to roll in for members of the Innovex Estevan Bears, with another graduating forward planning to play for his hometown team next season.
Dylan Brass (Yorkton, SK) has committed to play for the Yorkton Terriers in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) for the 2026-27 season on Friday, January 30th.
“Dylan is a player we’ve tracked closely for the past two years, and he even AP’d for us during our playoff run last season as a 16-year-old.” said Terriers’ Head Coach/GM Emery Olauson in a release on the team’s website. “His offensive production has been exciting, but what’s stood out most is the step he’s taken in the second half of this season.”
”He’s emerged as one of the league’s premier offensive threats, and we’re confident his game will translate at the SJHL level.” added Olauson.
Brass has tallied 49 points (22G, 27A) in 34 games this season, good for 14th in SMAAAHL scoring. The Bears’ assistant captain also led tournament scoring with 9 points in 4 games at the Saskatchewan Hockey Classic over the Christmas break. Since then, his production has levelled up with 16 points (10G, 6A) in 7 regular season games.
“I like to think my game is very high-paced and skilled,” Brass said in the release. “Fans can expect a forward who competes every night and brings energy and offensive creativity to our lineup.”
Dylan Brass was not selected in the SJHL Draft, but his rights belong to Yorkton. Brass was selected in the 2023 WHL Draft in the 9th round (#198) by the Winnipeg Ice, who are now the Wenatchee Wild.
Brass is the fifth Bears’ player to commit in January, following Gunner Moore, Boston Schmidt, Van Huebner, and Brendan Jones.
