For the fourth time this month, a key contributor for the Innovex Estevan Bears has announced where they will play following this season.
Brendan Jones (Warman, SK) has committed to play for the La Ronge Ice Wolves in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) for the 2026-27 season on Tuesday, January 27th.
Jones, who is poised to be graduate to the junior level, has elevated his game and become one of the top players at both ends of the rink for the Bears this season.
“Jones brings a high-tempo, 200-foot game, combining relentless work ethic with high-end hockey IQ,” stated the Ice Wolves in a social media post on Tuesday.
“He thrives in tight spaces, consistently makes the smart little plays that drive possession, and has shown a proven ability to rise in big moments.”
The post also stated that Jones will add a strong leadership presence and fits perfectly with the identity of Ice Wolves hockey.
In his second season with the Bears, Jones has thrived centering a line with Gunner Moore. Jones has 46 points (19G, 27A) in 34 games, all of which have already surpassed his totals from 2024-25. Thanks to his strong play, Jones has already suited up in his first SJHL game with La Ronge earlier this season on November 21st against the Estevan Bruins.
Jones was selected 19th overall by La Ronge in the 2024 U16 SJHL Draft.
Jones, Gunner Moore, Boston Schmidt, and Van Huebner are the four Bears who have committed for next season.
