The 2026 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) Draft was held on June 9th as all 12 member clubs selected Saskatchewan-born players they hope will suit up in future SJHL games.
There were two different drafts held: a two-round draft for 2011-born players, and a six-round draft for 2010-born players.
The Innovex Estevan Bears were well represented with a total of six players chosen between the two drafts. That includes one incoming forward in the 2011-born draft, and five skaters in the 2010-born draft including four Bears’ selected in the first 17 picks. Additionally, another new Bears’ forward was auto-protected before the draft began by his hometown team.
Auto-Protected
Mason Bryksa (2011) – Auto-Protected by the Yorkton Terriers.
The Bears’ young forward was not made available for the 2011-born portion of the SJHL Draft, as the Yorkton Terriers used 1 of their only 2 auto-protect slots on Bryksa.
Bryksa had an elite offensive season with the South Alberta Hockey Academy (SAHA U15) in 2025-26, posting 36 points (13G, 23A) in 28 games, adding 3 points (1G, 2A) in 3 playoff games.
2011-Born Draft
5th Overall (R1) – Landen Andrusiak (F) selected by the Estevan Bruins
Andrusiak could play the next 6 seasons in the City of Estevan after being selected by the Bruins. The incoming forward starred with the Prairie Storm (U15 AA) in 2025-26, posting 53 points (21G, 32A) in 26 games before adding another 13 points (8G, 5A) in 8 playoff games.
2010-Born Draft
8th Overall (R1) – Nolan Jeworski (D) selected by the Weyburn Red Wings
Jeworski is a strong, steady defenceman who was relied on to play big minutes with the Regina Vics (U18 AA) in 2025-26, chipping in 18 points (7G, 11A) in 36 games while also posting 44 PIM.
12th Overall (R1) – Eli Beaudin (D) selected by the Humboldt Broncos
A Vics’ teammate withe Jeworski, Beaudin is a shifty, skilled blueliner who added significant offence from the back end with the Regina Vics (U18 AA). Beaudin tallied 32 points (10G, 22A) in 36 games adding 22 PIM.
14th Overall (R2) – Leyton LaBreche (F) selected by the Weyburn Red Wings
LaBreche was one of the top offensive players in the league last season with the Prairie Storm (U18 AA), racking up 55 points (31G, 24A) in 34 games.
17th Overall (R2) – Jax Hanson (F) selected by the Battlefords North Stars
After a highly productive U15 AA career, Hanson continued to light the lamp last season with the Prairie Storm (U18 AA), posting 57 points (15G, 42A) in 34 games.
53rd Overall (R5) – Jacob Glen (F) selected by the Estevan Bruins
Another player who could spend the next several seasons in the City of Estevan, Glen spent the 2025-26 season with the highly-touted Prairie Hockey Academy (U17 Prep) squad tallying 8 points (3G, 5A) in 30 games.
